I've had good experiences with Budget, and horrible experience with Enterprise. I rented from Enterprise to drive to Tampa for business and they actually DOWNGRADED me! They put me in a little crappy Ford when I had reserved a Grand Prix or something that size. The car was FILTHY; the carpet was sticky and there was actually a used tissue on the back seat when I picked it up!!

I'll stick to Budget and Hertz from now on!

Have found thru thousands of miles of travel that Budget agents are MASTERS of the "bait and switch", especially at LAX. Twicw they told me that the car I had reserved 3 weeks ahead of time had been rented, but they had a convertible (at @).00 more/day)available. Took a look at the convertible - a beatup red Sebring with a trunk latch that didn't work, walked down to Avis and rented a car at a better rate both times. Incidentally - the car rental situation at LAX stinks - all that riding on community buses!!
