As a result, many cross-country ski centers have continued to expand and improve their areas for a better skiing experience. Cross-country skiing is a wonderful way to exercise body and soul and experience the winter wonderland of New Hampshire.
While there are many cross-country ski areas to choose from, one that you won't want to miss is the Bear Notch Ski Touring Center. The Bear Notch Ski Touring Center offers affordable cross-country skiing and snowshoeing for the entire family in a beautiful mountain valley located near the base of Crawford Notch in NH's White Mountains.
The Bear Notch Ski Touring Center offers 70+ km of trails with 60km tracked and 60km Skate Groomed and an unlimited number of backcountry trails for your skiing and snowshoeing enjoyment. Bear Notch offers a variety of trails to suit all abilities with gentle terrain for beginners. Many of these trails offer spectacular views of the surrounding mountains as they travel by rivers and pristine waterfalls. Picnic tables and a warming station are also available.
Bear Notch Ski Touring Center offers a professional ski school as well as guided tours. Visitors may select from day tours, stargazing and moonlight tours. A staff naturalist is available to add to your skiing/snowshoeing experience.
A large selection of rental equipment is available for both skiing and snowshoeing.
The Bear Notch Ski Touring Center is located on Rt. 302 in Bartlett just west of the village. Daily rates are adults, $10 weekends and $6 mid-week, and junior rates are $6 weekends and $4 mid-week. If you are under 7 or over 70, you may ski or snowshoe for free. For more information, call 374-2277.
