Does Western history spark your interest? Can you picture the misty, scenic country of Missouri's Ozarks logging roads with its rivers and rocky terrain? Can you imagine yourself camping, surrounded by the all of the amenities, such as an 63,000-square-foot indoor arena, more than 2,000 indoor stalls, 59 outside stalls, a restaurant, a feed and clothing store for your horse and your comfort -- all this and only two hours from Branson, the new entertainment hub? Then Eminence, Mo. in October is where you want to be!
Most of the Eminence trails are something to write home about. The trails consist mostly of old logging roads through some of the most scenic country in the beautiful Missouri Ozarks. Taking the riders across the Jack's Fork and Current rivers that are well cut, terrain is rocky and your horses will require shoes. Even the most inexperienced rider can ride the trails without danger of injury.
Eminence is located approximately 175 miles south of St. Louis, 130 miles southeast of Springfield, 300 miles southeast of Kansas City and 130 miles west of Cape Girardeau. The campground is located 1 mile north of Eminence off Highway 19. It is set on the banks of the Jack's Fork River and has several swimming areas.
There are 2,885 barn stalls and 59 outside stalls available to rent or you may tie to your trailer, but not to trees. NO PENS OF ANY KIND OR PICKET LINES ARE PERMITTED.
Motels are located about a half-mile from the campground in Eminence: Shady Lane Cabins & Motels, (573) 226-3893; Riverside Motel, (573) 226-3291; The Eminence Cottages, (573) 226-3500.
