Turnagain Arm
The drive south of Anchorage is perhaps one of the most beautiful anywhere and no trip to Anchorage is complete without making a visit to Portage Glacier or Girdwood, heading south on the Seward Highway.

Golf Courses
The spectacular scenery of our area courses includes mountains, rivers and glacier vistas that add to the pleasure of being out on the links for the day. This is also "The Land of the Midnight Sun," where a golfer who enjoys playing the greens until late in the evening could still be playing at midnight.

Summer Solstice in Anchorage
Alaska is known as "The Land of the Midnight Sun" and summer brings exceptionally long days and glorious sunsets. June 21 is the longest day, when Anchorage residents enjoy more than 19 hours of daylight. It is a time for celebration, and there are many weekend events and activities around the city to enjoy.

Lake Hood
Close to Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport are Lake Hood and Lake Spenard. Lake Hood is the world's largest and busiest seaplane base. The base is home to many privately owned aircraft, air-taxi services and air charters that offer flightseeing and fly-in fishing or hunting.
